Senior Liberal Democrat quits as pressure on Ed Davey grows

Charlie Maynard, a senior Liberal Democrat spokesperson, has quit the party’s frontbench and is trying to remove Ed Davey as leader.

His resignation follows another frontbench departure four days earlier.

Some party members are frustrated that the Liberal Democrats are not attracting more voters.

Deputy leader Daisy Cooper says most MPs still support Davey.
