Heavy rain floods homes and streets across Istanbul
Heavy rain and storms flooded parts of Istanbul on Oct.
14, disrupting daily life across the city.
Streets, underpasses and tunnels filled with water, and many homes and businesses were flooded.
Singer Alişan’s basement filled with water to waist level, and firefighters spent about three hours pumping it out.
Alişan thanked the Istanbul Fire Department, whose crews continued responding to calls overnight.
Other residents and celebrities also faced flooding, including singer Aylin Coşkun and television personality Berfu Yenenler.
Yenenler said the water reached the area outside her home, but the nearby stream did not overflow.
