Tre Ford and Marc Liegghio lead Hamilton past Ottawa

Hamilton beat Ottawa in the CFL regular-season finale, with quarterback Tre Ford and kicker Marc Liegghio leading the Tiger-Cats.

The game was played in Hamilton, where the Tiger-Cats hosted the Ottawa Redblacks.

Both teams entered the finale with losing records: Hamilton was 5-12 and Ottawa was 1-16.

Hamilton’s season had been derailed in part by a season-ending ankle injury to starting quarterback Bo Levi Mitchell in July.

Ottawa had lost its first 16 games before winning against Toronto the week before, ending a 22-game losing streak.

The victory gave Hamilton a winning finish after a disappointing season, while the result ended Ottawa’s campaign; no further games are specified.
