Nvidia plans truck-shippable AI data center pods for 2027
Nvidia unveiled its DSX Pod AI Factory at GTC Berlin, a system for building AI computing capacity.
Each pod is about the size of a shipping container and holds seven Vera Rubin AI racks.
The racks, cabling and liquid cooling are assembled at the factory, so customers can connect the pod at a prepared site.
Nvidia says this setup could cut data center deployment from six months to 14 days by completing assembly and checks before shipment.
The company is expanding from selling chips to providing more complete systems for AI data centers, which need large amounts of computing equipment.
Nvidia has not announced a price, and analysts say one Vera Rubin rack alone may cost more than $7 million.
Deliveries are expected to start in early 2027, through Nvidia's manufacturing partners.

The only thing that has to happen when it gets to the site is it's placed in its location, connected to the rest of the other containers, and validated through final burning and testing
