Russia says military housing queue will fall by 20,000 in 2026
Russia’s military housing queue is expected to shrink by 20,000 people in 2026, Defence Minister Andrei Belousov said.
He made the announcement at a meeting with service members who received apartment keys in a new building in the Moscow region.
More than 330 families received apartments in the building.
Belousov said housing for military personnel, especially participants in the special operation, is a priority for the Defence Ministry.
The new building also has a public service centre, café, pharmacy, medical centre and parcel collection points on its ground floors.
New apartment buildings are due to open during 2026, which the minister said would help reduce the queue.
