Jung Jong-chul sold his Ilsan apartment and moved to Seoul

Comedian Jung Jong-chul sold his large Ilsan apartment at a loss after about a year and moved to Seoul.

Actor Lee Gye-in recounted the story on a YouTube program about property, saying Jung had earlier encouraged him to move to the same area in Goyang, near Seoul.

Jung's wife wanted them to move to Seoul, Lee said, and reportedly threatened divorce if they stayed.

She argued they should buy even a small home in Gangnam rather than wait for prices in Ilsan to rise.

The exact sale date and price, and whether Jung made money after moving, were not given.

Jung later bought a building in Seoul's Jamwon-dong for 4.5 billion won through a company, according to one account.

The story highlights how a decision about where to live can also shape a household's property investment, but no further plans were reported.
