Mike Leigh’s new film Tender Loving Care has its first trailer, and it may be his last film.

The story explores care, love and growing old, including the strain on those who support others.

The film won the Golden Shell and Best Screenplay awards at the San Sebastián Film Festival.

It opens in New York and Los Angeles on December 11, with a wider release beginning December 25.

What people are saying

Mike LeighFilm director
Tender Loving Care is a film about care and loving. And it’s really about people who care for other people professionally, and people who care for the nearest and dearest. It’s about the pending end of life. Growing old. It’s about hanging onto youth. And overall, it’s a film, I think one could say, about love, really. Love in the sense of lovingness.
