De Ligt starts new relationship after split from Annekee Molenaar

Manchester United defender Matthijs de Ligt is recovering from a back injury that has kept him out of action since late 2025.

He had surgery in May and has not played for the club this year.

De Ligt and Annekee Molenaar separated in 2025, after one year of marriage and a relationship that began when they were young.

Molenaar said the breakup was deeply painful, but she and De Ligt still have a lot of love for each other.

She said they had shared wonderful years and eventually concluded that their romantic relationship had ended.

De Ligt is now dating model Amber Yuusef, while Molenaar is single.

He is waiting to return to the field, with support from his new partner.
