Sabancı completes final payment in CarrefourSA transfer to A101 owner
Sabancı Holding has made a final $6.47 million payment to Yeni Mağazacılık, the company that owns Turkey’s A101 supermarket chain.
The payment brings Sabancı’s total outlay in the CarrefourSA transfer to about $91.95 million.
The deal transferred a combined 89.28% stake in CarrefourSA from Sabancı Holding and Carrefour Nederland to Yeni Mağazacılık.
It was completed on July 31, 2026, after conditional approval from Turkey’s Competition Authority.
The announced $325 million figure was CarrefourSA’s total business value, not the final share price.
Once the company’s net debt and working capital were accounted for, the final share value was negative, so Sabancı paid the buyer instead of receiving money.
Yeni Mağazacılık now controls CarrefourSA, while the companies had said they planned to keep their brands and separate management structures.
