Julia Stiles Recreates ‘Save the Last Dance’ Routine on ‘Dancing With the Stars’

Julia Stiles recreated a dance from her 2001 film on the Oct.

13 episode of “Dancing With the Stars.”

She performed with professional partner Ezra Sosa to Jennifer Lopez’s “Jenny From the Block” during the show’s “Super Bowl Night.”

The routine paid tribute to “Save the Last Dance,” in which Stiles played an aspiring ballerina who moves to Chicago after her mother dies.

In the film’s final scene, her character combines ballet and hip-hop while auditioning for Juilliard.

Former co-star Sean Patrick Thomas watched from the audience and joined the tribute by standing in the background with his jacket over his shoulder, like his character did in the film.

The judges gave Stiles and Sosa 33 out of 40 points, and Thomas said he was “over the moon” to see the performance.

Stiles and Sosa advanced in the competition and continued their pursuit of the Mirrorball Trophy.

I loved the tribute to your own hit, of course, but the whole routine, not just the dancing, the interpretation, the construction, the way you play the character, your best one so far.
