Alsea’s third-quarter profit rebounds as Starbucks Mexico sales recover
Alsea’s net profit rose about 48% in the third quarter of 2026 after falling in the first half of the year.
The Mexican restaurant operator said consolidated revenue increased 2% to 21.4 billion pesos from a year earlier.
Mexico drove much of the improvement, with sales there rising 5.9% to 12.15 billion pesos.
Starbucks Mexico’s same-store sales grew 3.1%, a turnaround from the previous quarter, as customer traffic gradually recovered.
The first-half decline in profit followed weak consumer spending, cost pressures, currency effects and costs linked to early debt repayment.
The rebound matters because Mexico accounts for 57.2% of Alsea’s consolidated revenue, while sales fell in Europe when measured in pesos and were flat in South America.
Alsea’s chief executive said the company enters the final quarter with a better pace and reaffirmed its updated outlook from July.
Alsea’s third-quarter net profit rose about 48% to 545 million pesos, reversing declines in the first half of 2026.
Consolidated revenue increased 2% to 21.397 billion pesos, supported by Mexico and improved Starbucks performance.
Alsea’s Mexico sales grew 5.9% to 12.15 billion pesos and accounted for 57.2% of consolidated revenue.
Starbucks Mexico same-store sales grew 3.1%, a 500-basis-point improvement in the trend from the previous quarter.
The company’s EBITDA fell 0.7% to 4.396 billion pesos.
