Lausanne-Sport and Luka Elsner agree to end his role as manager

Swiss club Lausanne-Sport has parted ways with manager Luka Elsner after five months in charge.

The club, which is part-owned by Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s INEOS group, said the decision followed discussions about the team’s performance.

Lausanne is bottom of the Swiss Super League after 12 league matches.

INEOS has put the club up for sale as it looks to reduce its sports holdings.

The club said it wished to recognise Elsner’s work, but that results mattered.

Elsner’s successor has not yet been named, and Lausanne says it will announce one after making an appointment.

The decision comes as Manchester United manager Michael Carrick faces scrutiny after a poor run, though United’s 3-2 comeback win over Roma ended a nine-game winless run.
