Provacuno wins Spain award for expanding beef exports
Provacuno received Spain’s 2026 food internationalisation award at Madrid’s Teatro Real.
The Agriculture Ministry recognised the group’s work opening and strengthening overseas markets for Spanish beef.
Provacuno represents Spain’s beef industry, and its president, Raúl Sanz, said the award recognised work by the group, businesses and public authorities.
Since 2017, the group has helped open markets in countries including Japan, Canada and Saudi Arabia.
Exports rose to €1.75 billion last year, compared with €693 million in 2017, while volumes increased from 196,000 to 230,000 tonnes.
Most exports still go to European Union countries such as Portugal, Italy and France, while some non-EU markets are gaining importance.
