ZDF repeats Wendland crime drama about a murder and a silent stranger

ZDF is repeating its 2024 crime drama “Wendland – Stiller and the Great Silence” on 28 October 2026.

The story follows Inspector Jakob Stiller and his team in the Wendland region of northern Germany.

An injured stranger appears in Stiller’s garden, but he will not speak and the name on his identity card is false.

Soon after, a local gardener is found shot dead in the Elbe River.

The investigation links the dead man and the stranger to the influential Sorrow family, whose past includes dealings with East German officials before German reunification.

The case reaches back into the region’s divided history, as Stiller tries to uncover how the people and events are connected.

The repeat airs at 8:15 p.m., and the film is also available in the ZDF media library until 28 October 2027.
