Russia says it hit Ukrainian steelworks, power sites and cargo ship
Russia’s defence ministry says its forces carried out a large overnight attack on infrastructure in Ukraine.
It says targets included steel plants in Kryvyi Rih and Zaporizhzhia, and an electricity substation in Zhytomyr.
The Kryvyi Rih plant, owned by ArcelorMittal, is Ukraine’s largest steelworks and had suspended operations in September after earlier Russian strikes.
Russia says the steelworks supplied Ukraine’s military industry, and that the Zhytomyr substation helped distribute power to industrial sites.
The ministry also says a cargo ship in the Black Sea was hit while carrying military supplies to Odesa.
The claims could not be independently confirmed, and no further developments are stated.
