Zelensky says Ukraine could consider online elections

Volodymyr Zelensky said Ukraine could consider holding elections online, but parliament would have to find a way to make that possible.

He said he was ready to consider elections after the fighting ends and a transition period.

Ukraine’s current laws and constitution prevent elections during wartime, and Zelensky has previously cited security risks.

He has also said he would be ready to hold elections if there were a 60-day ceasefire.

In an October poll, 71% of respondents opposed elections during the conflict, while 24% supported them.

Zelensky said he did not want to give the impression that he was trying to stay in power.
