Greg Wise explores loss and caregiving in new memoir

Actor and writer Greg Wise has published Grief Talking, a memoir about loss and what he has learned from it.

His experience includes the death of his sister Clare, who was diagnosed with breast cancer five years before she died in 2016.

Wise cared for her in her final three months and took over writing her blog when she became too weak to type.

The book also reflects on the deaths of his parents and a university friend, as well as grief passed down through his family.

Wise tells these stories without offering advice, saying he wants to describe what happened and how he responded.

He has also worked as a patron for End of Life Doula UK and says being present at the end of a loved one’s life can be a privilege.
