Generali to close three German sites and cut 800 jobs by 2030

Generali plans to close three sites in Germany by 2030, as part of a new location strategy.

The insurer will move teams from Aachen, Nuremberg and Stuttgart to regional centres in Cologne, Munich and Karlsruhe.

The changes will cut 800 jobs, the company said.

Generali says the reductions will happen through retirements, staff turnover and voluntary early-retirement measures.

It says employees will have a job and location guarantee until the end of 2030, to make the changes more predictable.

The closures and job cuts are planned by 2030; no more detailed timetable is given.

Generali also plans to invest hundreds of millions of euros in IT upgrades, digital services and artificial intelligence.
