Whale shark caught in fishing net off Japan’s Sado Island is released

Whale shark caught in fishing net off Japan’s Sado Island is released

A fisherman on Japan’s Sado Island found a whale shark in his net while fishing.

The shark was large enough to be clearly visible from the boat, and a video of the encounter was posted on Instagram.

The crew released the whale shark, which is described as an endangered fish.

Because it was too large to escape by lowering the edge of the net, the fishermen turned the net over.

They also released all the other fish caught in the net as they freed the shark.

The shark returned safely to the sea, and the fisherman said he was glad they could let it go.
