Madhubala’s Sister Disputes Claim About Her Breakup With Dilip Kumar

Madhur Bhushan disputes an account of Madhubala and Dilip Kumar’s breakup that linked it to Madhubala’s heart condition and inability to have children.

Veteran actor Mumtaz had suggested those health issues led to the couple’s separation.

Bhushan says Madhubala’s heart problem was diagnosed after the relationship had reportedly ended in 1957.

Their breakup has also been linked to differences between Dilip Kumar and Madhubala’s father, Ataullah Khan.

Bhushan said the former couple are buried five to 10 metres apart at Juhu Muslim Kabrastan in Mumbai.

Her accounts of when Madhubala’s illness first appeared differ on which film she was working on, and she said she could not remember the film names clearly.
