Nintendo warns Zelda anniversary Switch 2 repairs may use standard-color parts
Nintendo says repairs may use standard-color parts for its limited-edition Zelda 40th Anniversary Switch 2 and accessories if matching replacements are unavailable.
The warning appeared on Japanese packaging for the console and Pro Controller, and a similar policy exists in Nintendo’s US service terms.
The special green-and-gold Joy-Con 2 controllers, dock and Pro Controller are more vulnerable to this issue because their designs are specific to the edition.
Owners may not get matching replacement parts if those components need repair or replacement.
The screen, cooling fan and battery are shared with other versions, while the anniversary console does not have the revised model’s easier-to-swap battery in the EU, according to Nintendo.
Some retailers have listed an updated version that conflicts with that battery information.
