James Gunn Denies Milly Alcock Was Fired as Supergirl

James Gunn denied that Milly Alcock was fired as Supergirl, dismissing rumors about the DC Studios film.

Alcock first played Kara Zor-El in Superman in 2025 and reprised the role in Supergirl, released in June.

Gunn says Alcock is set to return in Man of Tomorrow, the planned Superman sequel.

He also rejected claims that a test screening of Man of Tomorrow drew poor reactions or had a dark ending with a hero's death.

Gunn planned to show Peter Safran an early cut of the film later that day.

Safran, his fellow DC Studios co-chairman, would be the first person to see a version of it, about a month before Gunn had expected.

Man of Tomorrow is scheduled to premiere in July 2027.
