Six men arrested over fatal beating of 24-year-old in Hamburg
Six men aged 19 to 23 have been arrested over the death of a 24-year-old man in Hamburg.
Prosecutors say five of them arranged to meet him in Wilhelmsburg on February 6, reportedly because of a dispute over money.
Several men allegedly beat and kicked him, including while he was on the ground.
Investigators say a sixth suspect then drove the unconscious, badly injured man to Eißendorf.
He went hours without emergency medical help; an acquaintance called for an ambulance at about 1:30 a.m., but the man died the next morning in hospital.
Prosecutors say prompt medical help would probably have saved his life.
All six face suspicion of manslaughter by failing to act, and five also face suspicion of assault resulting in death; investigators have rejected an earlier account that masked strangers attacked the victim.
