YOASOBI promotes Sapporo dome shows as tickets remain available

YOASOBI singer ikura held a street performance in Sapporo on October 17 to promote the duo’s November 14 and 15 concerts there.

The concerts are part of a dome tour by the Japanese music duo, whose songs have been streamed more than 10 billion times, according to one account.

Tickets remained available for several dome dates, including shows in Osaka, Nagoya and Fukuoka, while the Tokyo dates were described as sold out.

The reports say this does not necessarily mean the group has lost popularity; rather, streaming numbers do not guarantee concert attendance.

Some fans have objected to the flat 14,000-yen ticket price and a sales system that does not let buyers choose specific seats.

Dome shows also involve high costs for equipment, staging and staff, which can make ticket pricing difficult to lower.

The Sapporo concerts are scheduled for November 14 and 15, but the reports do not say whether the remaining tickets will sell.
