Former Hunan official indicted on bribery charges
Ye Hongzhuan, a former senior official in Hunan province, has been charged with bribery in China.
The National Supervisory Commission completed its investigation and sent the case to prosecutors for review.
China’s top procuratorate ordered Ye’s arrest and assigned the case to prosecutors in Guiyang, in Guizhou province.
Prosecutors say Ye used his positions in Xiangxi prefecture and the Hunan provincial legislature to help other people.
They allege he illegally accepted property in return, in an amount described as especially large.
The Guiyang People’s Procuratorate has brought the case to the Guiyang Intermediate People’s Court, where the charges will be considered.
