Search continues for missing 18-year-old near Oberstdorf

An 18-year-old from Unterknöringen has been missing since November 1.

He left his parents’ home at about 7:30 a.m.

and did not return that evening as expected.

Police believe he may have travelled by train from Burgau to go hiking near Oberstdorf, and say he was probably alone.

Police, mountain rescue teams and a helicopter have searched the area, using drones and sniffer dogs, but the search has not found him.

His whereabouts remain unknown, and search efforts will continue depending on the weather.

He is about 1.72 metres tall, with short brown hair, and may be wearing a dark green jacket, black trousers, beige hiking boots, a dark blue hat and black gloves.
