French manga Dreamland gets an animated adaptation

French manga Dreamland has become an animated series made by French studios.

The show became available on Crunchyroll and ADN on October 17.

The manga, created by Reno Lemaire, has been published by Pika since 2004 and has sold more than 800,000 copies worldwide.

It follows Terrence, a teenager who enters a world of dreams after overcoming his fear of fire.

There, he can move freely as a conscious dreamer and control fire.

The story is set in Montpellier, giving the series a distinctly French setting despite its manga influences.

Two more seasons have reportedly been ordered, though no further details are given.
