Caring wins award for plans to link elder care with financial services
South Korean care company Caring won a Shinhan Innovation Award for its work with Shinhan Bank on elder care and financial services.
The award was part of a Seoul and Shinhan Financial Group program that selected six companies from 204 applicants for a four-month collaboration.
Caring and the bank gave care workers training on financial scams and artificial intelligence, and discussed protections such as retirement benefits and liability insurance.
They plan to use care workers’ job histories in credit assessments, which could help workers access financial services.
Caring is also exploring ways to help older people and families understand public support and manage care costs.
The three selected companies will each receive 10 million won in business support and may take part in further work with financial firms.
