Danantara bars Indonesian state-owned company leaders from personal golf during work hours

Danantara has set new conduct rules for leaders of Indonesian state-owned companies.

They apply to company directors and commissioners and are part of an effort to improve workplace professionalism and corporate culture.

Personal activities such as golf must take place outside working hours and must not interfere with company operations or performance.

Company funds and facilities cannot be used for hobbies, sports or other personal activities unrelated to official duties.

The rules also cover the use of company facilities, flights, assistants, security escorts and social media.

Danantara chief operating officer Dony Oskaria said the limits are intended to prevent managers from using their positions to enjoy excessive benefits.

The rules are meant to make state-owned company management more professional, but no further steps or timetable are given.
