Sinner turns to orthopedist Herbert Schoenhuber as he plans for 2027

Italian tennis player Jannik Sinner has ended his 2026 season early and is focusing on returning in 2027.

He has enlisted Herbert Schoenhuber, an orthopedist and co-founder of Physioclinic, whose clinic announced the move.

Sinner missed several tournaments, including the US Open, and will also miss the ATP Finals and Davis Cup.

His last match of the season was a win over Alexander Zverev at Wimbledon on July 12.

Schoenhuber previously helped assess skier Sofia Goggia after her serious fall at Cortina in January 2022.

Goggia went on to win silver in the downhill at the Beijing Games, 23 days after her injury.

Sinner hopes to be ready for the Australian Open and return to his previous level, but the sources do not give details of his condition or recovery timetable.
