Chapman and Ravindra ruled out of New Zealand's India ODI series

Mark Chapman and Rachin Ravindra will miss New Zealand's ODI series against India because Chapman is recovering from a hamstring injury and Ravindra has a shoulder problem.

New Zealand have changed their squad, bringing in Henry Nicholls, Matt Fisher, Dean Foxcroft and Tim Seifert.

Seifert, who was first selected for only the fourth and fifth matches, is now available for the entire series, while Nicholls is named for the first three games and Foxcroft for the last two.

Nicholls earned his call-up after scoring 119 for Canterbury, his 13th century in List A cricket.

Ravindra needs more recovery time before he can field comfortably, and New Zealand say they do not want to risk him ahead of a Test series later this month.

The team will assemble in Auckland on Monday, and the first ODI is scheduled for Wednesday at Eden Park; Matt Henry's availability will depend on a fitness assessment.

Everyone knows what an asset Mark and Rachin are to this side so it’s a shame they have to miss this series

I caught up with Mark last week and although he’s disappointed he’s working hard to get back on the field. With Rachin, his shoulder hasn’t quite recovered to a position where he could field comfortably in white-ball cricket, so with the Test series later this month we don’t want to take any undue risks.
