Three suspects arrested over fatal shooting in Draguignan

On May 9, a passenger was shot dead at a Carrefour car-wash parking lot in Draguignan, in southern France.

Two armed men approached a car carrying the victim and a driver; one shot at the driver, while the other fatally wounded the passenger in the throat.

The driver escaped on foot, and the attackers left in the victims’ car, which was found burned three days later in Taradeau.

After five months of investigation, police arrested three men on October 6, including the suspected shooter and his alleged accomplice.

Investigators traced the suspects using surveillance footage, and searches found the two weapons used and the stolen car’s key.

The three men admitted involvement during questioning, according to the reports.

The suspected shooter and his alleged accomplice are in pre-trial detention, while the third man is under judicial supervision over suspected involvement in burning the car.
