Ten military district commands to move to Indonesia’s new Mataram command
Ten Indonesian Army district commands are being transferred from the Diponegoro command to the newly formed Mataram command.
The transfer involves five districts in the Yogyakarta region and five in Central Java, including Temanggung, Wonosobo and Klaten.
The change shifts military command across Yogyakarta and nearby Central Java, which were previously under the Diponegoro command.
The new Mataram command’s headquarters is planned for about nine hectares of Sultan’s land in Sidoluhur, Sleman.
Construction cannot begin until required administrative steps are complete, including coordination with national and local authorities.
Until the headquarters and organization are ready, the command will operate from the Pamungkas Military Resort headquarters in Yogyakarta.
Staffing and organizational preparations are still under way, and construction is expected to start once the requirements are met.
