Online subscription complaints rise 8.8-fold in five years
More people in South Korea are asking for help with problems linked to online subscriptions and automatic renewals.
Complaints rose from 17 in 2020 to 150 last year, and there were 132 more by August this year.
Many complaints involved ending contracts or paying cancellation fees.
Officials say the available records do not show how long people were charged without using a service, and they want consumer protections reviewed.
