Xavier Walsh signs with Tasmania Devils for 2027

Xavier Walsh has signed for Tasmania’s VFL team for the 2027 season.

The former Port Adelaide player spent three seasons at the club but did not break into its AFL side, scoring 28 goals in 36 SANFL games.

He scored 23 goals in 16 games this year, his most productive season, playing mostly as a forward.

At Tasmania, he will be reunited with head coach Ken Hinkley, who coached him at Port Adelaide.

Walsh will join his younger brother Axel, who is already signed with the Devils and is eligible for the 2027 draft.

Tasmania is building its playing group for a second VFL season in 2027 before entering the AFL in 2028.
