Mediolanum aims to manage at least €10 billion in Spain by 2030

Mediolanum International Funds Limited plans to expand its business in Spain and manage at least €10 billion there by the end of 2030.

Its assets under management in Spain rose from €3.82 billion in 2023 to €5.96 billion as of August.

The firm’s detailed 2030 targets total €12.65 billion in investment funds and portfolio mandates, above its headline goal of at least €10 billion.

Including advisory business, it says the total could reach nearly €18.7 billion.

Mediolanum plans to keep using multiple managers while increasing the share of portfolios it manages directly, to avoid concentrating risk.

It is developing a product combining public and private investments for Spanish savers, with monthly liquidity and a focus on people with savings to invest.

The company’s chief executive also argues that Spain’s proposed savings account should have a 10-year investment horizon, rather than five, and allow global investment.

We have a very strict rule of three: any decision has to be good for the client, good for the adviser and good for the company. If it is only good for the company, we will never carry it out.
