River beats Racing 1-0 in Argentina's Clausura tournament

River beat Racing 1-0 in the 14th round of Argentina's Clausura tournament at the Monumental Stadium.

Lautaro Rivero scored the winning goal with a header after Ángel Correa sent a cross into the area.

River also appeared to score again, but the referee disallowed the goal after a VAR review.

VAR judged that Gonzalo Montiel interfered with the goalkeeper from an offside position during an earlier part of the play.

The referee ruled that Racing's attempted clearance did not start a new phase of play, so the offside could still be reviewed.

It was the third straight match in which VAR ruled out a River goal, a decision that angered River supporters.
