KPAI Urges Support and Custody Review in Bandung Child Abuse Case

KPAI Urges Support and Custody Review in Bandung Child Abuse Case

A doctor is accused of abusing his four-year-old child in Bandung, West Java, Indonesia.

The child’s mother became concerned after the child described sexual conduct and said it came from the father’s phone.

The case was reported to have been uncovered in November 2025, and medical checks in 2026 found gonorrhoea and signs of inflammation.

Police arrested the suspect in Bekasi on October 21, 2026, while he was with the child; the child was taken to a safe house and was reported to be stable after a medical examination.

The Indonesian Child Protection Commission, known as KPAI, says the child and mother need ongoing rehabilitation and support, and has urged prosecutors to seek the removal of the father’s custody rights.

The legal process is under way, and KPAI has also called for compensation for the victim and faster responses to child abuse complaints.
