Driver fleeing police crashes into house in Andwil, leaving it unsafe
A 21-year-old driver fled a police check in Gossau, Switzerland, in the early hours of Saturday.
He drove at a greatly excessive speed toward nearby Andwil, where he hit a curb, lost control and crashed into a house.
The driver was seriously injured but got out of the car himself and was taken to hospital.
The house was badly damaged and at risk of collapse, so firefighters supported it before the car was removed.
The building is no longer fit to live in, and Andwil arranged emergency accommodation for its residents.
Police ordered blood and urine tests and took the driver’s licence; the final amount of damage has not been established.
