Fire Point says it will continue producing Flamingo cruise missiles
Fire Point says it will keep producing its Flamingo cruise missile and focus on improving the existing model.
The Ukrainian company’s CEO, Iryna Terekh, made the clarification after an edited interview clip spread online.
The clip left out the journalist’s question, which was about whether Fire Point planned to develop other cruise missile models.
Terekh said the company has no current plans for additional cruise missile variants, not that it would stop making the Flamingo.
Fire Point is also working on two ballistic missile models, which Terekh said were a priority from the start.
She described the Flamingo as a way to show Ukraine could strike distant Russian targets, rather than a weapon expected to change the course of the war on its own.
Terekh also said Fire Point funds its own product development, and that no state budget funds had been spent on it.
Fire Point says it will continue producing FP-5 Flamingo cruise missiles and has no plans to abandon the project.
