Mexico City festival brings pan de muerto and artisanal drinks
The Festival Artesanal de Café, Chocolate y más takes place October 17–18 in Roma Norte, Mexico City, for the Día de Muertos season.
It brings together more than 100 exhibitors from 12 Mexican states, offering regional pan de muerto, coffee, chocolate and other foods.
Pan de muerto is a traditional seasonal bread, and festival versions include sesame-topped and filled varieties as well as a dark loaf made with corn-husk ash.
Visitors can also try hot drinks and Mexican snacks, including tamales and Puebla-style cemitas.
A workshop will show how cacao is ground by hand on a metate to make chocolate.
Entry is free, but food and drinks cost extra and are sold by individual exhibitors.
