Northstone drilling supports Barje gold-silver model ahead of resource estimate
Northstone Resources’ latest drilling supported its model of the Barje gold-silver deposit in southern Serbia.
The company tested 12 diamond-drill holes, mainly in lower-grade areas and along the deposit’s edges.
The results found mineralisation broadly where expected and at similar grades and widths.
Barje already has a non-JORC estimate of about 670,000 ounces of gold equivalent, but Northstone is gathering data for its first JORC estimate.
The drilling also supports a high-grade corridor, and some results suggest mineralisation could continue farther south.
The new estimate is due in the December 2026 quarter, with geological interpretation and block modelling underway.
Further drilling is testing the deposit’s southern extensions and other areas around Barje.
Northstone Resources says infill drilling supports the geological model for its Barje gold-silver deposit in southern Serbia.
Assays from 12 diamond holes totalling 1,341 metres found mineralisation broadly where the model predicted, at similar grades and widths.
The results support continuity along the margin of a high-grade central corridor, while drilling is testing possible southern extensions.
Northstone is working towards its maiden JORC Mineral Resource Estimate, on track for the December 2026 quarter.
- Who
- Northstone Resources, an Australian-listed company.
- What
- Infill drilling results support the geological model for the Barje gold-silver deposit ahead of a maiden JORC resource estimate.
- When
- The latest assays were reported on October 29, 2026. The resource estimate is on track for the December 2026 quarter.
- Where
- The Barje deposit in southern Serbia.
- Why
- The infill program is designed to build confidence in the resource model and provide data for the first JORC resource estimate.
This story does not have two clearly opposing sides.
Drilling confirmed the model in Barje’s north-eastern zone.
Results identified a continuous high-grade corridor through the deposit, including 36 metres at 5.85g/t AuEq from 47 metres.
Northstone reported assays from 12 diamond holes totalling 1,341 metres, supporting the geological model.
Northstone’s maiden JORC Mineral Resource Estimate is on track for delivery.
- Latest assays
- 12 diamond holes totalling 1,341 metres
- BAR056
- 10.8 metres at 3.3g/t AuEq from 68 metres
- BAR055
- 2.8 metres at 3.9g/t AuEq from 129.1 metres
- Existing resource
- Non-JORC NI 43-101 inferred estimate of 7.1 million tonnes at 2.9g/t AuEq, about 670,000 ounces AuEq
- Assay status
- Results reported for 31 of 33 initial infill holes; BAR060 and BAR062 results were pending
What people are saying
The objective of infill drilling is to build confidence in the resource model, and these results do exactly that
With the bulk of the infill assays in hand and modelling underway, we are approaching our maiden JORC Mineral Resource Estimate for Tlamino.
