Slow Horses ends season 6 with River’s fate uncertain

The Slow Horses season 6 finale ends on a cliffhanger as River Cartwright collapses at his grandfather’s home.

The spy drama follows MI5 agents, including River, Jackson Lamb and Sid Baker, as they face Russian assassins and River’s father, Frank Harkness.

Earlier in the finale, Emma Flyte is killed and Louisa Guy is shot during a fight at Diana Taverner’s house.

River returns home after learning Sid is staying there, and finds her upstairs.

As he prepares a drink, he realizes something is wrong and collapses, apparently after being exposed to a nerve agent.

River’s survival is not confirmed; the show’s co-executive producer says people can survive the suspected poison, but it can also be fatal.

Sid may also be at risk because she is in the house, and it is unclear whether she will reach River in time.

The finale leaves both characters’ immediate fate unresolved.
