Flávio Bolsonaro rules out appointing his brother as foreign minister

In a televised interview in Brazil, presidential candidate Flávio Bolsonaro ruled out his brother Eduardo as foreign minister if he wins the presidency.

Flávio also said his father, Jair Bolsonaro, had not asked for a government job, and that he had no role in mind for him.

Jair is under house arrest after being convicted of attempting a coup, while Eduardo has been living in the United States and working with the Trump administration on sanctions against Brazilian Supreme Court justices.

Flávio said he now supports ending the six-days-on, one-day-off work schedule after hearing workers support the change.

He promised that his proposed fiscal adjustment would not cut the minimum wage, pensions, or minimum spending on health and education.

A recent poll put Flávio and President Lula in a technical tie in the presidential runoff, and both candidates have been interviewed by the broadcaster.
