Daegu to survey company demand for planned Gunwi industrial complex

Daegu is surveying companies about whether they would move into the planned Gunwi First Advanced Industrial Complex in South Korea.

The city and the Daegu Urban Development Corporation will ask about firms’ interest, preferred site sizes and possible move-in dates.

The planned complex would cover about 5 million square metres in Sobo-myeon, Gunwi County, and be built in stages at a projected cost of 1.5 trillion won.

The survey will focus on six fields, including future mobility, artificial intelligence and robotics, semiconductors, aerospace parts and defence, while also checking demand from other advanced industries and logistics facilities.

The findings will support a feasibility review that Daegu plans to request from the Local Public Enterprise Evaluation Institute in the first half of next year.

The project is intended to build on planned transport links, including the new Daegu-Gyeongbuk airport and a regional railway whose preliminary feasibility study has passed.
