Son of Korean singer Ko Ji-yong wins five medals at Singapore maths event

Seungjae won medals in all five events he entered at the 2026 World Team Maths Cup.

The international competition was held in Singapore on October 30 and 31, with events including Math Pioneers, Crossnumber, Shuttle, Relay and Group.

He competed with friends as part of a team, and his mother said they worked together and did their best.

She said he did not win gold, but was proud of the medals and the experience he gained with his teammates.

Seungjae is the son of singer Ko Ji-yong and doctor Heo Yang-im, who divorced by agreement in 2024.

He drew public attention as a child after a TV programme described his test results as being in the top 0.5 percent.

His mother said the team experience and learning together mattered, and no further plans related to the competition were announced.
