Indonesia's Parliament Sets Four Bills as Priorities, Excluding Election Law
Indonesia's Deputy House Speaker Sufmi Dasco Ahmad named four bills as priorities for the next parliamentary session, which follows a recess ending in early November.
The bills cover cybersecurity, Indigenous communities, population administration and asset seizure.
Dasco said the bills should fit within Indonesia's recently passed One Data framework, rather than operate as separate legal systems.
The framework is intended to link population records, recognition of Indigenous rights, secure information sharing and lawful, auditable asset tracing.
The election law bill was not among the four priorities, although Parliament has formed a working committee to discuss it.
Committee chair Bahtra Banong said a discussion schedule had been prepared and would be made public; the listed bills are due for work in the coming session.
