Wild Horse Nine follows two CIA agents in Chile before the 1973 coup

Martin McDonagh’s Wild Horse Nine follows two CIA agents stationed in Santiago, Chile, in 1973.

John Malkovich plays Chris, who is nearing the end of his life, while Sam Rockwell plays Lee, his longtime partner.

Their trip to Easter Island takes place shortly before a military coup in Chile led by Gen.

Augusto Pinochet.

Their boss sends Lee to learn what Chris plans to put in a memoir, including what he knows about the 1963 assassination of US President John F. Kennedy.

Chris’s loose talk and his growing bond with two young Chilean women complicate the trip.

The film mixes dark comedy with a story of regret and violence, a style associated with McDonagh’s earlier films.

Its setting connects the agents’ private conflict to the CIA’s role in Chile, while the story remains focused on their relationship.

Son implication dans l'affaire JFK est bien évidemment une rumeur, mais j'ai toujours été fasciné par cette conspiration, donc j'ai pensé que ce serait un élément intéressant à ajouter à cette histoire.
