Antoine de Massy, 29, found dead in Monaco as investigation continues

Antoine de Massy was found dead in Monaco on Sunday evening, aged 29.

He was the son of Baron Christian de Massy and Cécile Gelabale, and a cousin of Prince Albert II.

His body was found in a green space near Larvotto Boulevard, behind Villa Sauber, after a relative raised concern when he missed a family lunch.

Monaco’s prosecutor opened an investigation to establish the cause of death.

Police detained one person on Monday after reviewing surveillance footage, but the person may be a witness and their involvement has not been established.

Investigators have not ruled out an accident, the actions of another person or a failure to help someone in danger.

Prince Albert and Princess Charlene expressed their sadness and sent condolences to his family; the investigation is continuing.
