Brazil changes 4,352 voting section locations ahead of runoff
Brazil's electoral authority changed the addresses of 4,352 voting sections for the 2026 election runoff on October 25.
The changes affect 0.87% of the country's sections, but the number of sections does not show how many voters are affected.
Repairs, accessibility work and storm damage prompted the moves, according to the Superior Electoral Court.
São Paulo had the most changes, with 982 sections moved, followed by Minas Gerais, Rio de Janeiro and Bahia.
Voters should check their address before setting out, even if they voted at the same place in the first round.
They can look it up in the e-Título app or on the court's website, which also shows their voting zone and section.
Anyone who missed the first round can still vote in the runoff if their voter registration is in good standing, but they must still address the earlier absence if they did not justify it.
The Electoral Superior Court changed the voting addresses of 4,352 electoral sections for Brazil’s 2026 runoff.
The changes affect 0.87% of the country’s 499,248 sections.
The runoff is scheduled for October 25, and election officials recommend checking the location before travelling to vote.
São Paulo had the most affected sections, with 982, followed by Minas Gerais with 514, Rio de Janeiro with 431 and Bahia with 312.
The court said the changes were prompted by repairs, accessibility improvements and damage caused by heavy rain and wind.
Voters can check their updated address through the e-Título app or the court’s online service.
